Echelon Institute of Technology, Faridabad was established in the year 2007 on a sprawling campus spread over 17.5 acres. In the Year 2007-08, it had an intake capacity of 240 seats in CSE, IT, ECE and AEI (60 seats each). The institute was inaugurated by Shri R.R. Shah, IAS (Retd.), Member Secretary, Planning Commission, Govt. of India on 19th August 2007. The landmark feature of session 2007-08 was the lecture series which was inaugurated by Prof. Yashpal, the grand old man of science and followed by Dr. Naresh Gupta, CEO, Adobe India.
In the year 2008-09 another unit of 60 seats was added to CSE totaling the intake capcity to 300 seats. The landmark decision was taken to set the eligibility criteria at minimum 65% marks in qualifying exam for getting admission in Echelon. The institute topped in the "pass percentage" of M.D. University exams with many merit positions. Boys Hostels, Girls Hostels, Faculty Residences & Canteen were constructed in the campus premises.
During the session 2009-10, another unit of 60 seats was added to ECE and new discipline, Mechanical Engineering was started raising the total intake capacity to 360. The institute organized a Mega event, interstate techno cultural fest "Echiesta-2009" in which prominent colleges like St. Stephens College, University of Delhi, participated. Popular international singer, Juggy D from U.K. was the star attraction.
In the year 2010-11 another unit of 60 seats was added to M.E. totaling seats to 420 seats. The institute again topped in the "pass percentage" in the first semester M.D. University Dec, 2010-11 Exams. with as many as 15 merit positions. The department of Training & Placement (TNP) was fully geared up and was proactive. More than 20 companies visited the campus for recruitment of students. In order to promote games & sports, Echelon organized Four "Challenge Cups" for Cricket, Basketball, Football and Volleyball.
In the year 2011-12 a new branch of Civil Engineering was introduced with a unit of 60 seats. The total intake of 420 seats i.e. 120 seats each in CSE, ECE & ME and 60 seats in Civil Engineering. Echelon became proud to start M.Tech. in CSE with an intake capacity of 18 seats.
In the year 2012-13 a new branch of Computer Science and Information Technology with a unit of 60 seats has been introduced. A new unit of 60 seats has been introduced in Civil Engineering branch, raising the intake capacity of B.Tech. in Civil Engineering to 120 seats. Echelon is very proud to start M.Tech. in Electronics & Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering with an intake capacity of 24 seats in each branch. Hence current intake capacity in B.Tech. CSE, ECE, ME, CE (120 each) and CS & IT (60) has been raised to 540 seats and current intake capacity in M.Tech. CSE(18), ECE and ME(24 each) has been raised to 66 seats.
