Mechanical Engineering is a discipline of engineering that involves the production and usage of energy for the design, production, and operation of machines and tools. It is one of the oldest and broadcast engineering disciplines. The engineering field requires a solid understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science and structural analysis. Mechanical engineers use these core principles along with tools like computer-aided engineering and product lifecycle management to design and analyze manufacturing plants, industrial equipments, heating and cooling systems, motor vehicles, aircraft, watercraft, robotics, medical devices and more.
Department of Mechanical Engineering was started with the undergraduate B.Tech course in the year 2009 with an intake of 60 seats and another unit of 60 seats has been added this year raising the total to 120 seats. Department already has a very sound infrastructure to provide quality education and to achieve the vision of Echelon. Central Workshop occupies more than 11000 square feet with Machine Shop, Welding Shop, Fitting Shop, Carpentary Shop, Sheet Metal Shop, Forging Shop and Foundry shop as an individual unit with state-of-the-art facilities. Central Workshop helps the students in learning different manufacturing processes available in present in present industrial scenario. It also helps the students in making projects as per the modern industrial requirements of various departments. Besides this, the department has spacious Engineering Drawing Hall of more than 60 capacity and Basics of Mechanical Engineering Lab which are used to get foundation knowledge of Mechanical Engineering.
Computer Aided Design (CAD) lab, Machine Drawing Lab, Engineering Mechanics Lab and Material Science Lab are designed with latest industrial technology to help the students to understand various aspects of advance mechanical engineering.

Full time- 4 year graduate degree program approved by AICTE, Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India and affiliated to M D University, Rohtak.
